DrawAttention is a Denton-based startup co-founded by Kyle Taylor, a 2012 UNT alumnus, that creates whiteboard stickers for laptops and other devices. Though it’s such a simple idea, it has caught the attention of whiteboard enthusiasts and tech publication all over the world – not just because of that market potential and simple design, but also because of how they bootstrapped themselves into success starting with only $13, the price of a domain name.
Kyle, a whiteboard enthusiast and startup evangelist in the North Texas startup community, spends his spare time helping other entrepreneurs and students to get their own ideas off the ground. He is a Startup Weekend global facilitator, co-founder of Denton’s own tech startup volunteer collective TechMill, and a web developer who enjoys helping others learn how to write code. Being so involved in the community, Kyle enjoys heading to coffee shops on Sundays as a ritual he calls Coffee Shop Sundays. This is a time for him to work on personal projects and hold open office hours with local entrepreneurs and tech enthusiasts, but keeps an open invitation for anyone wanting to chat. By putting a whiteboard on the back of his laptop, he thought it would be the perfect way to engage others without being intrusive.
