Datadog
Senior Sales Engineer — RUM subject matter expert, observability enablement, since 2024.
I joined Datadog in May 2024 as a Senior Sales Engineer, coming over from a Principal Sales Engineer role at Pantheon. My background in web application development and cloud infrastructure let me ramp quickly — instead of easing in, I jumped straight into building packages and enablement tooling, and became one of the first Real User Monitoring (RUM) subject matter experts at Datadog.
Most of that work shows up as small, public tools rather than one big project: a request/response interceptor for debugging RUM sessions, an educational sandbox for how RUM tracks fragments and actions, and Datadog Mobile SDK support for .NET MAUI apps (including the symbol-upload tooling needed to make MAUI stack traces readable). I’ve also been experimenting with agentic AI on Azure and Datadog as that space has opened up.
Years of web app development and cloud infrastructure work at Pantheon meant I wasn't starting from zero on the technical side — I could ramp on Datadog's product surface instead of the underlying concepts.
Small internal tools and packages end up mattering more over time than any single deal — the RUM interceptor and the MAUI SDK work both outlived the specific reason I built them.
